How long will my project take?
Most residential installations are completed in 2 days — done right, done efficiently. When conditions call for more time, we take it. We will never rush a job at the expense of quality. Our commercial projects are handled with the same high standards, scaled to fit the size and scope of your project — because whether it's big or small, we get it right the first time.
Is there a warranty on my completed project?
We stand behind every job we do — that's why we offer a lifetime warranty on all residential and commercial installation labor. Combined with full manufacturer product warranties ranging from 12 to 120 months, you can trust your investment is fully protected. Any exceptions will always be communicated clearly before work begins.
How do you prepare my floor before the Surface FX coatings are applied?
Superior adhesion doesn't happen by accident — it's engineered. Surface FX crews remove all existing flooring as needed, then attack your concrete from every angle: edge grinders tackle the perimeter, HD industrial diamond grinders profile the open floor, and nothing gets coated until every square inch is properly prepared. Dust is an unavoidable part of the process, but a messy space isn't. HEPA filter vacuums are deployed on all enclosed projects so your environment stays clean, safe, and protected.
Do you move everything out of the garage?
While we do require the smaller items moved in preparation for us coming, the Surface FX crews are happy to help you move a few heavier items like a refrigerator or furniture out of your space if necessary!
How do I clean my new concrete coating?
Surface FX coatings are incredibly easy to clean and keep clean! A squeegee, some dish soap, and water will do the trick for everyday use, and it can be mopped, hosed off, and even pressure washed!
Are Surface FX floors slippery?
Our chip system and clear coat ensure our floors are both slip-resistant and bare foot friendly. We can also add additional texture to the top coat upon request.
Will my floor yellow from sun exposure?
Our polyaspartic clear top coat is 100% UV stable and will not yellow or discolor. These coatings look great around pools too! UV exposure is brutal and this closing step is crucial to long lasting durability.
How long does it take to cure?
Typically you just need to wait 24 hours before resuming normal activities on your new coated surfaces.
How long after the installation until I can walk on my floor?
You can walk on your new floor within 4-6 hours of clear coat application. We do ask that heavy items not be placed onto the completed surface for a minimum of 24 hours after completion.
